Noteworthy both in terms of its aesthetics (a grand-style, majestic Grade II-listed former stock exchange building) and the ability to sample the real cuisine of the mogul kings and princes with contemporary style, there are few places like Old India outside of London. In our opinion, this is the best Indian cuisine that this city has to offer. Get this: the building boasts doric columns, vaulted ceilings and a Victorian tiled hallway – eclectic, but quite frankly ... splendid! With specialist ingredients from rare spices through to exotic fresh vegetables, poultry, meat and seafood, the menu combines the traditional Indian flavours and earthy delights with style. Service was exceptional and very quick the last time we dined, and a very informative chat about their bespoke offering was also most appreciated. Just take it from us, this place will impress.
