It is the little things that make a bar stand out and straight away Hausbar completely blew us away when we visited it a week after opening. Tucked under Rajpoot restaurant on Upper Belgrave Road, you will not be met by a huge neon sign but by a doorbell ! The owner Auri will greet and invite you into this seductively lit hideaway that looks and is an exclusive bar, so don't turn up drunk and expect to be let in. In order to preserve the intimacy, groups of 5 people or more will also be turned away. We went in on a rainy evening and Auri automatically asked us what sort of cocktails we liked. I tried a fascinating gin concoction and my friend had a fine brandy from the extensive & carefully selected cocktail and spirits list. The drinks were served with pretzels and a carafe of water that we have never seen the likes of before! Auri is clearly very passionate about what he does & it was no surprise that we stayed for more cocktails! This is a welcome addition to Invitation Platinum !
