Formally Shades wine bar, it has now been totally refurbished, attracting an intimate and vibrant crowd, mixing informality with a cosmopolitan twist perfectly. Located in one of the old cellars of Edger Buildings on George Street, once you arrive and sample one of their fantastic cocktails, you will find it hard to leave. Try their apricot sour, a perfect blend of Stoli vodka, Licor 43 liqueur shaken down with apricots, fresh apple juice and lemon, served on the rocks. Or how about their mouth-watering basil and honey daiquiri, a combination of fresh basil, runny honey and light rum shaken down with lime juice and served in a martini glass. With sweeping leather booths dotted around the bar and plenty of outdoor space in the secluded and surprisingly large yard to the rear, many an evening can and should be enjoyed at Sub 13.
